1928-1941 Desoto six
The DeSoto Six — now that’s some downright badass iron from the old American DeSoto brand, back when cars had style, swagger and a whole lotta steel.
Sure, on my cruisin’ blog I’ve been talkin’ ’bout that truck version they built in Turkey — Askam kept crankin’ out DeSoto‑branded rigs all the way up to 2015. But that was a whole different deal: a Turkish company buyin’ up the bankrupt leftovers and buildin’ ’em under license from ’62 ’til they themselves went belly‑up in 2015. Not exactly the same as the real American DeSoto, but still kinda wild.
Now the DeSoto Six — that’s the real vintage treasure. Built from 1928 to 1941, pushin’ a hundred years old now, so you can bet your boots they count as true classics. Came as convertibles with rumble seats for the mother‑in‑law, or with a steel roof like the ones you see in the pictures. Thirteen years of production back in those days? That was somethin’ to brag about.
‘Drive a DeSoto Six and you’ll be the king of any classic‑car meet.’
