Various Opel Classic Cars!

Well now, lemme tell ya somethin’ ‘bout Opel, partner. I done talked ‘bout ‘em before in my blog fer them good ol’ boys who like cruisin’ round the countryside, and I gotta say, they’re ‘bout as plain and dull as a two-dollar steak. Now, even though their quality’s shakin’ like a tumbleweed in a storm (yeah, I’ve heard ‘bout them Rekords rustin’ away), ya still see plenty o’ 70s and 80s Opels rollin’ ‘round Norwegian backroads, all tricked out by the local gearheads.

But lemme spin ya a yarn ‘bout one special Opel that’s somethin’ else. This here’s the Opel Saehan Max, a rare breed that made its way clean across the globe, only to end up in a heap near Fetsund and Lillestrøm. See, this ol’ rig was first cooked up for the Koreans back in the late 70s, early 80s by Saehan. But the Koreans didn’t want nothin’ to do with ‘em. They tried pawning ‘em off to the Greeks, where a whole bunch just sat gatherin’ dust in a customs warehouse for years.

Some got scrapped, but ‘bout 220 of them were bought by a company in Trøndelag in the late 80s. There’s even an article ‘bout it from 1994—spelling errors and all. If you ask me, the Opel Saehan Max is a real treasure. Saw one for sale on Finn.no not too long ago.

Another version of the Opel Kadett pickup, and maybe even rarer, is the Chevrolet Chevette 500 pickup. Now, this little rig is as cool as a Saturday night bonfire. It’s perfect for fixing up, polishing, and showin’ off down at the local hangout. Whether you’re tinkerin’ in the garage or cruisin’ the backroads, this baby’s got the kind of charm that’ll turn heads and make folks wanna chat. A true gem for anyone who loves a good project and a bit of flair

Now, when we’re talkin’ ‘bout the far reaches of Europe, let me introduce ya to the wild east’s own Opel oddities: the Opel Ida and Opel Ida Kikinda. These here rusted relics are the kind of cars that’ve seen more potholes than pavement and still manage to chug along. I even laid eyes on one down in Crete once—poor thing was snapped clean in half, like a wishbone on Thanksgiving!

These Opels might not win any beauty contests, but they sure got stories to tell. If you’re into quirky, rough-around-the-edges classics, these are worth a look—though you might need a heap o’ duct tape and a strong sense o’ humor to get ‘em roadworthy again. 🛠️🚗

Over in Greece’s neighbor, what we used to call Yugoslavia, they were churnin’ out Opels back in the 1980s under the names Opel Ida and Opel Kikinda. These rigs are real gems if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ unique, especially if you came here from the Balkans durin’ the wars in the ‘90s.

Odds are, if you’ve got roots there, you might still have some good ol’ contacts who can help ya track one down and bring it over. It’s not just a car—it’s a piece of history and maybe a touch of home, all rolled into one. 🚙🌍

The Opel Saehan Camina and Gemini are some downright cool South Korean Opels from the 1970s. These beauties got a bit of an Aussie vibe to ‘em, lookin’ kinda like the 70s Holdens straight outta the land Down Under.

They’ve got that classic, no-nonsense style that makes ‘em stand out, whether you’re cruisin’ the open road or tinkerin’ in the garage. If you’re a fan of vintage cars with a bit of flair and a whole lotta personality, these are the ones to keep an eye on. 🚘🔥

They were also called Holden Gemini Isuzu, Gemini, Vauxhall Gemini, Chevrolet Gemini og Daewoo Maepsy
